Let us share with you our experience of bringing Sahaja Yoga to the best students of Belgorod Region (Russia, close to the border with Ukraine) who were resting in the Youth camp situated in a beautiful picturesque place which belongs to the Russian orthodox Patriarchy. The Head of Belgorod churches had visited the camp two days before our arrival.

This camp unites a lot of different youth movements and its main motto is “No alcohol, tobacco and swearing!” The best students and school leavers gather here in this place every year. All the students have intense workshops, they are delivered lectures and they are always busy with various events and outings while staying in the camp.

A young lady, the head of one of the students’ groups, warned us that we should not talk about Yoga, but mostly about Indian culture.

We decided to conduct the program in the form of an open-air concert. We had changed dresses and started rehearsing the sari-show behind the curtains. But our saris were so bright that we had started to attract the attention of people long before the concert began.

Our presenter Yuriy started the program with Read the rest of this entry »

I would like to share a nice recent experience of Togliatti (Russia) Sahaj collective in spreading Sahaja Yoga at one of the popular annual city events.

I have to say that the organizers have not wanted us to participate in it for a long time. Probably they were afraid that we would turn to be a kind of a sect. As for us we did not hide ourselves under the mask of any other organization because by that moment we already had a many years experience and knew that if we would represent ourselves as a ‘Club of butterfly fans’ for example then we will attract butterfly fans only but not the seekers of truth. During long time we for instance advertised our public programs through the posters which invited people to the Concerts of Indian Classical Music and Dance. As a result only the people who liked music visited our programs. And when we started talking about Sahaja Yoga at the programs many people felt disappointed and we awkward.

After that we started advertising our public programs and other events through the posters inviting people to Sahaja Yoga programs, meditation and self-realization etc. We put down SAHAJA YOGA with big letters on the posters and since than we met only those on the programs who wanted to know exactly about Sahaja Yoga, self-realization and Shri Mataji. As a result Read the rest of this entry »

Dear family,

Jai Shri Mataji!

Children’s summer Sahaja Yoga camp “Light” has existed in Togliatti, Russia, for already 5 years. Each year was wonderful but the anniversary term (this year) was one of the brightest. The first thing which has been different this summer – the number of children’s units. There were not 7, as usual, but 5 – according to the elements (fire, earth, air, water and ether). Each unit symbolized one of the elements. The second thing: the camp was situated on the territory of the working children’s health camp, in a separate building. Due to this fact, about 300 children resting in the camp got their self-realization. Third: the duration of the term was 2 weeks instead of 3 weeks. But they were so rich with events!

11 hobby groups worked this summer: modeling from clay, beadwork, bhajan studying, soft-toy sewing, panjabi sewing, sewing from ribbons, sport group, Indian dances, mehendi. There was also a “Play room”: lot’s of developing games had been bought. Not only children but also adults got interested in these games. There also was a library where children could look through the comic books about the Deities’ life. And in the “cinema” there were shown India cartoons (like Bal Ganesh, Krishna, Hanuman) and informative movies (about nature from BBC). This year even the swimming pool was special – big and with clean water. And the adults were united not only by the meditation room but also by the tea room where tea drinking ceremonies were accompanied with stories about children and sharing experience about the work with children.

One of the days there came the musicians from the International Academy of Indian Music and Art and organized a beautiful concert in the camp.

The camp was a strong energy center where we were bathing in Divine Attention and Love of Mother. Two Pujas were offered: Guru Puja (at the same time with the international Guru Puja) and Shri Krishna Puja where there was raksha-bhandan.

We also managed to organize Read the rest of this entry »

A day of Indian music and dance. Joy and peace within and around.

On the glade in front of the House of Shri Mataji, there had gathered a lot of Sahaja Yogis: to meditate, to worship Mother and do namaskar to Her in Her House, to sing collectively.

On video: Mr. Sanjay Talwar is performing the bhajan “Saba Ko Jagruti Do” together with Sahaja Yogis from different cities. It was a very spontaneous performance and it just happened that the Yogis started singing to the accompaniment of the guitar and Mr. Talwar happened to meditate nearby…

On the last day of the International Festival Mr. Sanjay Talwar talked to us about his visit to the Festival in Russia:

“Jai Shri Mataji! My name is Sanjay Talwar and I came 16 years after Shri Mataji first brought me to Togliatti. I came to my second home. Shri Mataji once said that Read the rest of this entry »

Welcome. A Heavenly Place

Since morning, almost during the whole day, the sounds of bhajans and kawwalis performed by different Russian music groups were heard from the small stage.

It’s getting dark. A breeze from the Volga River carries freshness to the glade. The meditation before the Puja is conducted by the children from Sahaja kindergarten “Cool Breeze” (a recording from the CD “Children’s meditation”).

Shri Adi Shakti Puja

Shri Adi Shakti Puja. Mother is here, Mother is in our heart. 2500 Sahaja Yogis from different countries – a single indivisible collective – an ocean in which all the drops are poured together. Shri Mataji, thank You for everything You are doing for us! Shri Mataji, we promise You that we will devote each second of our life to making Your Vision come true – to establishing Sahaja Yoga in the whole world!

The Ceremony of the Change of the National Council in Russia

The members of the former Russian Council for Sahaja Yoga Advancement come up onto the stage.

As an epigraph to the day:

August 6, 2010 – the day of the official opening of the International Sahaja Yoga Festival which was blessed by Shri Mataji Herself during the days of Sahasrara Puja and trough the letter of Sir C.P. sent to the Russian collective on May 14, 2010.

Already in the morning there gathered about 2100 Sahaja Yogis from Russia, Belgium, Belarus, Ukraine, Turkey, India, Kazakhstan, China for the collective meditation on the high bank of the river Volga. Collective footsoak in Volga followed.

As a continuation of the Southern Tour:

(the beginning of the Tour)

At an open venue on July 23 there was held a concert of the city of Gelenjik (Krasnodar Region) in the rest-house “Caucasus” on the coast of the Black Sea. The viewers started occupying their seats I 40 minutes before the performance. There were about 70 people at the concert – all of them got their self-realization.

It had been raining during two days before the concert – there was thunder, hail and lightning but the next morning a strong wind drove all the clouds away. For the first time, at a concert, during the bhajan “Vishva Vandita” the audience was applauding as if qawwali was being performed!

After the concert people were taking pictures with us and asked us to show them some of the elements of the Indian dance Kuchipudi. Sahaja Yogis of Gelenjik and Novorossiysk helped us greatly with the organization of the concert.
