Birthday Cards for Shri Mataji and Sir C.P.

Dear brothers and sisters,

After a week of collecting the words of felicitation for Sir C.P.’s 90th birthday and collective photos from all over the world, the Cards for Shri Mataji and Sir C.P. have been made. And now they are already in Italy.

Below you can see what the cards look like and read what is inside them.

The design of both the cards are quite similar and it was made by Sahaja Yogis.

At the front of the cards one can see tulips.

The idea behind the images on the cards is the following: when choosing and taking the picture of the flowers, we tried to reflect our attitude to Shri Mataji and Sir C.P. as to Mother and Father (children’s purity, innocence and sincerity). And also to depict the atmosphere of spring, love and freshness.

The collage at the back of the cards consists of about 180 collective photos reflecting devotion from all over the world. It is really incredible that we could collect so many pictures from all the corners of our planet during just a couple of days!!! We used all the pictures we got from you! The pictures from Sri Lanka and Kuwait, Lebanon and Turkey, Israel and Australia and many many more. There are also pictures from the Russian Sahaja yoga Festival which Shri Mataji and Sir C.P. visited in autumn 2009.

P.S: I was referring to the hard work on collating the beautiful photographs for Mothers card.
I have just now opened the card to Sir Sir CP and I do not understand on what bases Sahaja Yogies are referring to him as the divine father/parent or God!

    JAI SHRI MATAJI!

I have just opened card to Sir CP. I have known Sir CP for 30 years. He was a very charming man. He once invited some of us to dinner while Shri Mataji was away and tried to explain how much he felt left out of Sahaja Yoga collectivity.’ I would have very much liked to be part of this family’ – he said- ‘ but you must understand that as an Indian man it is almost impossible for me to worship my wife’. Sir CP was never around much those days and was never present at pujas. I don’t know how much I have to go on explaining things.
I had a dream once. In that dream all the Yogis were sitting in the puja hall. I arrived at the last minute, because I was involved with all the preparations in the early days. There was nowhere to sit for me and the only place was by Mother’s chair. Shri Mataji called me over to sit next to Her. She looked at the Yogis and asked them a question, which I thought to be very strange as all the Yogis were sitting there in the puja hall ready to worship Her. “What Gurus and what religions do you worship?”- asked Shri Mataji looking at the crowd that gathered at Her Feet . The answers coming back were not straightforward at all and I became quite confused by their content. “And who do you worship?” Shri Mataji turned Her face to me. “I worship You Mother” I said not quite sure what else I was supposed to add to it. “I know”- Shri Mataji replied and smiled gently and her eyes expressed that love that every Mother feels for her child and more.
This love is the essence of our Mother and it is everywhere. It is in the fragrance of flowers, in the bird song, in the waterfall, in greetings and birthday cards and in poems and dreams and in the mist that covers the earth with its shawl of whiteness. It is free to go where it is needed; it looks after itself and creates beauty wherever it goes. It is like the particle of dust in Shri Mataj’s poem.
I think that we owe those new Yogis who in their enthusiasm got carried away an explanation. Sir CP is not divine or God. It is not fare to say these things to him and treat him as such. He has the right to his own ascend and some people are not helping him at all. I don’t know what has happened to some Yogis but I hope that they start to mature. Mother is watching. It is a test but how long the deities can stand by and tolerate this I don’t really know. It comes a time when you can’t play games with the Divine any longer.
    with love Grazyna

Shri Mataji about Sir CP (1991)

But all the time he felt, he is so much changed My husband, so much changed, he became extremely humbled down. And he started suddenly caring to much for Me. He said You are extremely precious for the whole world. And he is very sure that it is only because I am so much blessed by God that he is being looked after.

There is only one Guru and it is our Dear Beloved Precious Divine Mother. And all of us, Sahaja Yogis, feel so much love in our hearts for Her. And Mother knows about it, She feels it! Sometimes we offer gifts, our words of love to Her but do they really express the depth of our love? Can they? They are just tiny drops in comparison with what we feel for our Mother, for Adi Shakti in our hearts.

Yes, there are more words in the card for Sir C.P. but do we weigh only the words? Is our love measured by words only?

We feel it is so good that sooo many Yogis have sent their love to Sir C.P. because Sir C.P. needs it soo much now. He, as a human, is doing so much for Sahaja Yoga now that many of us would like to have at least some of the qualities which are so developed in him.

I feel compelled to add my voice to say that Sir CP should be respected and loved, but not revered as a deity – what is going on??!!!

Beautiful cards, Joyful loving sentiments. However those messages which refered to Sir C.P as God should have been excluded.

I was concerned when I saw the Russian yuva shakti ecard for Shri Mataji and Sir CP. In English if you write you with a capital Y it implies that person is divine. Sir CP is an exceptional and blessed person, but Shri Mataji has never once said he is divine.
We should be most respectful and extremely grateful to him for his support and help of Shri Mataji, but not treat him like a deity. When we saw this card last week, an old Sahaja Yogi and I asked the question on the vibrations: ‘Shri Mataji, is Sir CP divine?’ and we felt no cool and a lot of catches.
I am the editor of the Eternally Inspiring Recollections of Our Holy Mother books and this story, below, is in the new book, which will soon be published. On one occasion Shri Mataji said the same thing to me personally, and has said the same thing many times, that the deities are all within Her in this incarnation.

All the incarnations are within Me at this time
In 1984, I went to see Shri Mataji at Her house in Brompton Square. Shri Mataji was visibly saddened.
‘Luis, do you know that people ask Me such strange questions,’ She said to me.
‘No, I did not know, but who asked the strange question?’ I replied.
Shri Mataji did not tell me who had asked Her the question, and I assumed that it must have been a visiting Sahaja Yogi from abroad. Shri Mataji explained that someone had just asked Her whether the boy that She had named as William was the re-incarnation of William Blake!
‘How can you people ask such absurd questions like that?’ Shri Mataji added.
I happened to be living at the time at Chelsham Road ashram, and this very beautiful and gentle boy named William was also living there with his parents. No one living there ever suggested the absurd thought that this boy was an incarnation, though he was obviously a very sweet, realised child, and very well behaved. I ventured to ask Shri Mataji the answer to this question.
‘How could he be the incarnation of William Blake?’ Shri Mataji answered, and pointing at Herself said, ‘William Blake is in My body. All the incarnations are within Me at this time. There are no other incarnations out there right now.’

God is love and Heavenly Kingdom within us. And Shri Mataji pours this love onto us, also through Sir C.P.

  17. Anastasia’s avatar

My personal belief is that each Yogi said what he wished to say to Sir C.P. And it would not be right for any of us to take the responsibility to allow some words expressing love to reach Sir C.P. and some not (which each of us meant for him). Who are we to be censors? It is only between Sir C.P. and each one who decided to send warm words to him. But somewhere within me I feel that the Yogis who used the words “like God, Divine” did not mean to depict Sir C.P as God, really. It was only the highest admiration of the great positive qualities he has. And it goes without saying that there is not any competition between Shri Mataji and Sir C.P.! It is not the matter of qorshipping but the matter of gratitude, admiration and respect.

Capital “Y” can be used when referred to deities but not only. It also means one’s deepest respect for someone and often used in official letters among humans.

Don’t you think that after the downpour of dirt which has been poured onto Sir C.P. for months by some members of our family he really needs and deserves some support and it is so great that this support has turned out to be a waterfall of love!

Yes, he Sir C.P. human but a very noble one which many of us would like to resemble!

    Papaji Sir CP Srivastava (1990)

But having said that, I know that She is present everywhere. She is with you. She is not with you physically every moment. But don’t you feel She is with you. So She is with me. For She will blush if I say She is always in my heart, which I won’t say then.
But She is literally with me. I assure you, whether She is in Australia, or She is in America, or She is on the continent. I receive a telephone call in the morning. And I am told what medicine I am to take, if I am not well. And She speaks to my cook and tells him what to cook for my lunch. How can you say She is not with me?

    Papaji Sir CP Srivastava (2005)

To me, my wife, SHRI MATAJI NIRMALA DEVI, is the very essence of my
life and the most beloved person on Earth. Her continuance on this Earth is the most fundamental desire of mine. At HER personal request made to me, in April 2003 in Mumbai, I have always been by HER side day and night. SHE asked me to sleep on the same bed with HER and always be within the reach of HER hand. If, on waking up, SHE sees me sleeping with my face turned to the other side, SHE wakes me up and asks me to turn my face towards Her. SHE calls me “SWAMI”, which is a traditional Indian word indicating the purest love and the highest respect for the husband.

The point that we have been missing for thousands of years is to not go to extremes. If someone says that this good person is God, it’s extreme. If someone says he is evil, it’s extreme. Everyone makes mistakes. It’s how quickly that we return to the truth, the center, in collective integration, that measures the strength and stability of our spiritual evolution.
I had the honour of visiting Sir in the hospital two days ago. A great and respectable man he is, but not perfect.
May divine Love keep us always near the center of the wheel, so that we don’t find ourselves slipping unexpectedly out over the spinning edge someday.

The cards and their presentation are very sweet. The tulip images with their pink and green contrast are striking. Most of the loving greetings really touch and open the heart. Congratulations.
However from small trickles of exaggerated adulation in the wrong direction, which seem like Mothers Leela, like tiny isolated errors which we forgive and shrug off, seem to turn within a short while into unstopable rivers of false knowledge. This has been my experience anyway.
We worship the one who incarnated to open the Sahastrara Chakra 87 years ago.
Sir C.P, a blessed and royally dignified man is not a deity and should not be addressed as such. Not even on his 90th birthday :-) . It’s neither good for him, or for us.

My Love to you dear sister and to all of our Russian brothers and sisters.
    Jai Shri Mataji.

    Marilyn.

Let us again all pray to Shri Mataji and wish Papaji Sir CP, best wishes and long life from our loving hearts.

    Sir CP Srivastava

I also practice Sahaja Yoga meditation that my wife Nirmala founded. This is a meditation which changes people from the core. It helps them become more balanced and strong. It’s always taught free of cost all over the world as we believe that spirituality cannot be paid for in money. We are building a drug rehab in USA currently and if I were to take a guess, my enthusiasm for a better world is a 100% thanks to Sahaja Yoga.

HH Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi (about Queen Victoria)

Shri Mataji told us about English Queen Victoria. Shri Mataji said that one of the peculiarities of her nature was her extraordinary love for her husband Prince Albert and his early death hurt the Queen very much. The death of her husband was such a stroke for Victoria which she was never able to recover from.

Shri Mataji said that Queen Victoria’s husband was a very punctual and orderly man (at that moment Shri Mataji smiled and added, “almost like Sir C.P.”) and he was a faithful ally and adviser for her in all her state affairs. Shri Mataji said that after the death of the her husband Victoria wore only mourning clothes for the rest of her life and said to the courtiers that she missed her beloved husband’s advice.

    Dear brothers and sisters,

We just wanted to share with you about the 2010 Collective Birthday Cards for Shri Mataji and Papaji Sir CP.

The Birthday Card was offered at the Lotus Feet of Shri Mataji right after the Birthday Puja. Immediately after the Puja Shri Mataji left for the hospital to visit Her dear husband (Sir C.P. was put to hospital before Shivratri Puja because he’d got a cold) and She stayed there for several hours.

The Birthday Card was offered to Sir C.P. a couple of days later when the Russian Coordinator visited him in the hospital. Sir C.P. was very happy to get the card!

    Jai Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi

From: Public Program, Moscow, Russia, 12 May, 1990 (the speech by Shri Mataji)

“My husband has given much money to Sahaja Yoga and he is giving it now helping Sahaja Yogis”.

From: Conference “Morality, Health, Peace”, Saint Petersburg, Russia, 19 September 1995 (the speech by Shri Mataji)

“Question: How to treat the members of the family (any family) who are not Sahaja Yogis”

Answer by Shri Mataji: Let’s start with the fact that the members of my family are not Sahaja Yogis. My husband happened to say, “I know you are Holy but you cannot transform others. You are moral but you cannot make others moral”. Now he changed. He said, “I’ve seen this process and you have transformed them into angels. I must honestly admit that you’ve fulfilled the task”. Now even my daughters, my grandchildren, all the relatives of my family, of my husband’s family, of my mother believe in Sahaja Yoga. But I want to say that I have shown all the compassion, love, patience and my mother’s family believed in Sahaja Yoga. However, I would not say that they are great Sahaja Yogis like Russians. But they will become them. Moreover, it’s better to keep them aside as Sahaja Yogis are taking care of them and it will lessen their chances. They should come to Sahaja Yoga like ordinary people. Otherwise, it will look like a family thing. I do not want it”.
