At the International Sahaja Yoga Festival which will take place in Togliatti on August 6-8, 2010, Sahaja pedagogical collective of the Sahaja Yoga kindergarten “Cool Breeze”, with the support of the publishing company “Nirmal System”, will be happy to introduce Sahaja publications for children.

Children are the future of Sahaja Yoga. And the Divine work they will be able to do depends on the level of how deep they were to comprehend Sahaja Yoga in their childhood.

In many cities of Russia, there are Sahaja Yoga meetings for kids. And it is very important because children’s meditations, in contrast to adults’ meetings, have their peculiarities:

1. The duration of a children’s meeting should not exceed 10-15 minutes.

2. The conduction of the meditation should be dynamic to keep the child’s attention on the main point.

3. Music helps maintain meditative state during the meditation.

4. Parents are the people who Shri Mataji has trusted the upbringing of realized Souls. That is why they play an active role when conducting meditations at home and are responsible for their child’s visiting collective children’s meetings.

5. That’s children’s nature that they copy everything that adults do. That is why they copy our attitude to meditation and Sahaja Yoga.

CDs and booklets that have been published this year in Russia helping parents and everyone who works with children in Sahaja Yoga in different cities of Russia:

1) “A Travel to the Country of Shining Lotuses”

Audio CD

A music guide for holding children’s meetings. There are six kinds of meditations on the CD:

1. “Song-cleaning”

Bhajans-mantras, the names of the Deities and the names of the chakras are used in the song. When the song is playing the child can be suggested to clean his chakras with bhandans (wind-cleaning) or lemons.

2. “Mother’s Breathing”

The duration of the tape is shortened taking children’s perception into consideration.

It can be used as follows: Read the rest of this entry »

As a continuation of the Southern Tour:

(the beginning of the Tour)

At an open venue on July 23 there was held a concert of the city of Gelenjik (Krasnodar Region) in the rest-house “Caucasus” on the coast of the Black Sea. The viewers started occupying their seats I 40 minutes before the performance. There were about 70 people at the concert – all of them got their self-realization.

It had been raining during two days before the concert – there was thunder, hail and lightning but the next morning a strong wind drove all the clouds away. For the first time, at a concert, during the bhajan “Vishva Vandita” the audience was applauding as if qawwali was being performed!

After the concert people were taking pictures with us and asked us to show them some of the elements of the Indian dance Kuchipudi. Sahaja Yogis of Gelenjik and Novorossiysk helped us greatly with the organization of the concert.

On July 24, in the art-club “Stray Dog”, one local folk-group was celebrating its birthday organizing a concert. Among the other collectives, the music group of Yuva Shakties had been invited to take part in it, too.

We were given 30 minutes on the stage and a table for mehendi that was working during the whole program.

As the people who gathered were aiming at ethno music, we began with potpourri of popular melodies of different nations and an instrument composition based on the bhajan “Maste Calandar” – all this fit well into the evening format. Then two bhajans were performed and between them there was Self-realisation protocol .

The audience was listening to the music attentively. At least Read the rest of this entry »

Char-à-banc is an open carriage people of the 19th century used to travel on in many countries. “Char-à-banc. The Wheel of the Time” – that was the name of the Festival of modern ethnographic music that took place in Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia, on 19 June, in an outdoor museum. That museum is an outstanding place in its own way. In the middle of the last century beautiful samples of wooden Russian architecture were brought there from all over Nizhny Novogorod Region to be collected baulk by baulk.

Sahaja Yogis were representing Indian folklore at the Festival as well as traditional painting with henna – mehendi. We also gave a workshop on Indian classic dance.

Opinion about the performance of our bhajan-group “Turia” published in the Internet by some viewer: “It is beyond praise. Firstly, Indian music is beautiful. Secondly, they were very-very loud-voiced. Thirdly, the instruments were almost absolutely ethical. Except there was Read the rest of this entry »

With much pleasure, we are inviting Yuva Shaktis of the whole world to the Seminar which will take place on August 3-5, 2010 (before the International Sahaja Yoga Festival) in the international Sahaja camp on the bank of the river Volga. Peculiarities of the Seminar:

Yaroslav city was preparing for its 1000th anniversary. Buildings, squares, streets, roads were being repaired, reconstructed, and decorated.

In the network of the preparation for the anniversary of the city, new initiatives, sugestions were appearing. One of them was the initiative of JSC Russian Railways to conduct an event under the name of “Volga Embankment is an Area for Creation” under the support of the city administration each Saturday from May 1 to July 31.

There were five pavilions along the Volga Embankment where groups from different cities demonstrated their works.

As for us, Sahaja Yogis, we were invited to take part in the action “Give up Alcohol and Cigarettes” on May 22. Moreover, Sahaja Yogis were allowed to arrange their posters and to give realization.

Kolomensky SY music-group “Sangeet Ananda” performed very successfully during an hour. The audience wished to meet with this group again.

Our activity was appreciated by the organizers of this event and we were invited for the participation in the Friendship Parade of Nations on June 12. Moreover they offered us much space for the whole day where we could present Indian culture, conduct a workshop on Sahaja Yoga, perform Indian music, paint the visitors’ hands in mehendi style and dress them in Indian national clothes.

Before this event, our collective offered a havan at the collective meeting, we asked Shri Agni Deva to take away all the problems and obstacles interfering with our Sahaja work. All the arrangements were made. We were ready!!!

June 12 came. In the morning the lowering sky and drizzly rain plunged us into some gloomy state referring the upcoming parade. But we were going and a phone call from the organizers took away our uncertainty.

By this time Sahaja Yogis from Kostroma, then from Moscow arrived. Joy was flowing. The family was gathering. It was Heaven!!!

The group being responsible for the decoration and preparation of our area went to prepare it; the rest of us began to change their clothes for the parade as we were to present India.

What strange events started happening!!! The weather Read the rest of this entry »
